CYLINDER HEAD - VALVE TRACTOR SAME TRIDENT 130 EXPORT

The cylinder head and intake and exhaust valves are critical elements of the combustion system of an agricultural tractor engine.

1. Cylinder head: This is an important part attached to the top of the engine block. It seals the combustion chamber and contains the valves, pre-combustion chambers (if equipped) and cooling passages for water or coolant. The cylinder head plays a crucial role in containing and managing combustion gases.

2. Intake and Exhaust Valves: These are moving components located in the cylinder head. The intake valves allow the air-fuel mixture to enter the combustion chamber, while the exhaust valves vent the burned gases after combustion. Their opening and closing is controlled by the camshaft via the rocker rods.

Some important points:

- Operation: The intake and exhaust valves open and close at specific times during the engine cycle to allow the entry of fresh air and fuel, as well as the evacuation of burnt gases.

- Sealing: The valves must have adequate sealing to avoid any compression leaks. Valve seats and guides must be in good condition to ensure proper fit and seal.

- Materials: Valves are usually made from alloy steel or heat-resistant materials to withstand the high temperatures generated during combustion.

- Maintenance: Regular maintenance of the cylinder head and valves is essential to maintain engine performance. This includes checking valve seats, replacing seals, cleaning carbon deposits, etc.

The cylinder head and valves are critical components for the proper functioning of the engine. Regular maintenance and periodic overhauls help maintain their optimal condition, thereby ensuring efficient performance and extending the life of the agricultural tractor engine.

The cylinder head of a tractor engine follows a precise operating cycle that corresponds to the internal combustion cycle of the four-stroke engine (or Otto cycle) typically used in gasoline or diesel engines.

The operating cycle proceeds as follows:

1. Intake Stroke: During the first stroke of the cycle, the intake valve opens, allowing an air-fuel mixture (gasoline or diesel) to enter the combustion chamber. The piston moves down, creating a negative pressure that draws the mixture inside the cylinder through the intake valve or through an injector (in the case of a diesel engine).

2. Compression Stroke: Once the intake valve closes, the piston moves up to compress the air-fuel mixture inside the cylinder. Both valves (intake and exhaust) are closed during this phase. Compression increases the temperature and pressure of the mixture.

3. Combustion/explosion time: At the precise moment the piston reaches top dead center (TDC), a spark plug (for a gasoline engine) or fuel injection (for a diesel engine) triggers the explosion controlled compressed air-fuel mixture. This pushes the piston down with considerable force, generating the motive power.

4. Exhaust Time: When the piston reaches bottom dead center (BDC), the exhaust valve opens, allowing burnt gases resulting from combustion to escape from the combustion chamber. The piston then rises to push these gases out of the cylinder.

The cylinder head plays a crucial role in housing the valves and sealing the combustion chamber. It must ensure sealing during these different phases of the engine operating cycle to maximize combustion efficiency and guarantee the proper functioning of the tractor engine.
