CARDANS WITH FREE WHEEL

Agricultural cardan shaft with free wheel for crusher, rotary crusher and agricultural equipment with inertia

The agricultural universal joint with freewheel is an essential component for agricultural machines requiring power transmission without risk of overload or damage. Here are some key points to know:

Operation of the gimbal with freewheel:

• Power transmission : The cardan is a rotating element that transmits power from the tractor to equipment, such as a chipper or rotary chipper, while allowing angular flexibility.
• Freewheel: The integrated freewheel allows the gimbal to rotate in a specific direction (usually in the operating direction of the equipment) and to disengage when there is excess load or when the inertia of the equipment is higher than the power supplied by the tractor. This prevents potential damage to the tractor, cardan shaft and equipment.

Use and applications:

• Agricultural machinery : Mainly used on agricultural equipment, such as shredders, rotary mowers, and other implements requiring constant power transmission but with variable loads.
• Inertia: Freewheeling helps manage the inertia of machines to avoid the risk of overloading and mechanical damage.

Benefits :

• Protection: Protects tractor and equipment from overloads and impacts.
• Security : Reduces the risk of injury to the operator in the event of overloading or jamming of equipment.
• Reliability: Increases the durability and longevity of the drive system by minimizing mechanical stress.

Precautions for use:

• Maintenance : Requires regular maintenance to ensure optimal operation and to ensure that the freewheel reacts correctly in the event of overload.
• Compatibility: Make sure the freewheel gimbal is compatible with your equipment and is properly sized to handle the expected loads.

It is crucial to choose the right type of freewheel gimbal based on the agricultural equipment and its specific operational requirements. These components are essential for the safe and efficient use of agricultural machinery, protecting both the equipment and the operator from potential damage.
