REAR DECK TRACTOR CASE STEIGER 430

The rear axle of a tractor is a crucial part of the power transmission and mechanics of the tractor. It transmits engine power to the rear wheels to propel the vehicle and is made up of various elements.

Some common tractor rear axle components:

1. Differential: It is a mechanism located in the rear axle that allows the wheels to rotate at different speeds when turning, ensuring adequate handling and traction.

2. Rear Axle: The rear axle includes the wheel hubs, bearings, drive shafts, and is where the rear wheels of the tractor are mounted.

3. Rear driveshaft: It is the element that transmits power from the engine or gearbox to the rear axle to turn the wheels.

4. Rear wheel hub: This is the part where the wheel is mounted on the rear axle, allowing the rotation of the wheel.

5.Rear Axle Housing: This is the structure that houses the internal components of the rear axle and provides structural support.

6. Bearings and seals: They ensure proper alignment and smooth movement of the rotating parts of the rear axle.

7. Guard and Cover: Guards may be installed to protect rear axle components from debris and damage.

8. Braking system: In some cases, the braking system may be integrated into the rear axle, with components such as brake drums, pads, and control mechanisms.

Regular maintenance of the rear axle is essential to ensure the proper functioning of the tractor. This includes checking lubrication levels, inspecting parts for wear, greasing pivot points, and replacing worn or damaged parts. Proper maintenance helps ensure rear axle performance and durability, as well as operator safety.
